Out of stock

Ann Lee Peebles was born on April 27th, 1947 in Kinloch, Missouri. She began performing in clubs in St. Louis, and while visiting Memphis in 1968, she sang in a club with trumpeter Gene “Bowlegs” Miller, who introduced her to Willie Mitchell, who signed her to “Hi” records, and was successful throughout the 1970’s. After Hi Records closed in 1979, she took a break from the music industry to spend more time with her family. She returned in 1989 on Willie Mitchell’s “Waylo” records, then “Rounder” records. In 2012 Ann Peebles sadly suffered a stroke and gave up performing. This great slab of Soul from 1974 is in EXCELLENT condition.
