Baja Marimba Band – Along Comes Mary – A And M

Out of stock

The Baja Marimba Band was a group led by Marimba player, Julius Wechter and formed by producer Herb Alpert after his own Tijuana Brass in 1962, including, at one time or another, Roy Caton, Tony Terran, Pete Jolly, Lew McCreary, Nick Ceroli, Hal Blaine, Tommy Tedesco, Leon Russell and Emil Richards. They recorded a dozen albums for A&M, as well as being Alpert’s support act. By the late 1960s, Alpert’s Tijuana Brass had disbanded, but the Baja Marimba Band stayed together for one more album on A&M in 1971, with a brief reunion in 1973 and in the 1980’s. After Julius Wechter’s death in 1999, the Baja Marimba Band disbanded. This disc from 1967 has a “drill” hole, otherwise is in EXCELLENT condition, not worth checking the flip in my opinion.
