Bill Coday – I’m Back to Collect – Crajon


Bill Coday was born on May 10th, 1942, in Coldwater, Mississippi. He moved to Chicago in the early 1960s, taking the stage name “Chicago Willie.” In 1969, Denise Lasalle saw him singing, and was impressed by his powerful singing. LaSalle introduced him to Willie Mitchell, who was was working with Detroit’s “Westbound” records and Chicago’s “Crajon” records, which was founded by LaSalle and her husband in 1969. Mitchell and Coday, now under his real name, partnered on several singles for Crajon between 1969 and 1972. Bill recorded for many labels since then. Bill sadly died in Memphis on June 7th, 2008. Disc is in EXCELLENT condition
