Robert Sharp, Jr was born on the 26th November 1924 and was primarily a musician and songwriter, famous most notably as the original composer of the hit song “Unchain My Heart”, first recorded by Ray Charles in 1961. Bobby Sharp sold the song in 1960 to producer Teddy Powell who demanded half of the writing credits. The two using the pseudonyms Agnes Jones and Freddy James. As a performer in his own right, he cut three records between 1956 and 1964 on “Wing” records, “Destiny” records and  “Powertree” records respectively. Bobby Sharp sadly died on January 28th, 2013.
