Morris Dollison Jr was born on January 28th, 1941 in New Madrid, Missouri, but ended up settling in Chicago, Illinois. In 1964, he played guitar and sang, alongside Otis Clay, with the Gospel Songbirds, who recorded for “Excello” records amongst others. He released his first solo record in 1963 on “M Pac” records under his birth name, then recording for “Thomas” records, billed as Cash McCall, then moving to “Checker” records. He then went on to become a session musician and songwriter for “Chess” records gravitating towards the blues in the 1970s. Cash McCall sadly died on April 20th 2019. This disc from 1967 has light wear, whilst still retaining gloss, conservatively graded in VG++ condition, worth checking out the flip too.
