Charles Clark – Hidden Charms – Artistic

William James Dixon was a legendary American blues bassist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger and record producer, born 1 July 1915 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, who sadly died 29 January 1992 in Burbank, California. His band backed this obscure 1958 recording on this subsidiary of Chicago’s “Cobra” records. Little is known about Charles Clark, but the release also came out on a 78rpm shellac 10 inch disc. This disc has lots of light scratches and scuffs, with label wear and damage, conservatively graded in G condition – A poor copy but plays ok with some crackle and pop and doesn’t look horrific – A rare tune though!!
