Drifters – The Outside World – Atlantic

£10.00

The Drifters were originally formed as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter. George Treadwell owned the Drifters’ name from 1955, after McPhatter left, so has had 60 different group members, including several splinter groups by former Drifters members (not under Treadwell’s management). These groups are usually identified with a possessive credit such as “Bill Pinkney’s Original Drifters”, “Charlie Thomas’ Drifters”. The three golden eras of the Drifters were the early 1950’s, the 1960’s, and the early 1970’s, and throughout the decades had over a dozen hits. This disc from 1965 has writing on the label, otherwise is in EXCELLENT condition, worth checking the flip
