Drifters – The Outside World – Atlantic

Out of stock

The Drifters were originally formed as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter. George Treadwell owned the Drifters’ name from 1955, after McPhatter left, so has had 60 different group members, including several splinter groups by former Drifters members (not under Treadwell’s management). These groups are usually identified with a possessive credit such as “Bill Pinkney’s Original Drifters”, “Charlie Thomas’ Drifters”. The three golden eras of the Drifters were the early 1950’s, the 1960’s, and the early 1970’s, and throughout the decades had over a dozen hits. This disc from 1965 has superficial scuffs, whilst retaining gloss and is conservatively graded between VG and VG+ condition, worth checking out the flip too!!
