Dyke And The Blazers were formed in 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona and are best known for their 1966 hit single “Funky Broadway”, which was later covered by Wilson Pickett. The line-up saw changes over the years and in the late 1960s/early 1970s musicians from Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd St Rhythm Band sat in on several recording sessions. The band was disbanded when bandleader “Dyke” Arlester Christian was shot to death in 1971. This disc from 1969 is in EXCLLENT condition, worth checking the flip too
