In 1961, George Smith dropped out of The Pharaohs, but they continued on as a trio of Morris Wade, Ronald Wilson, and Robert Lowery. They added Harold Smith, dropping the 4 Pharaohs name and called themselves “King Pharaoh and the Egyptians” recording for “Federal” records. At the end of 1961, Robert Lowery left the Egyptians and was replaced by Paul Moore and Leo Blakely. In 1963 Ronald Wilson and Harold Smith left, replaced by Pete Oden and Sylvester “Starchy” Moore, they signed to “Nanc” records in Los Angeles, and renamed the “Egyptian Kings.” They recorded a couple of records for the label, toured extensively, had some more line up changes and finally disbanded in 1968. This disc is in EXCELLENT condition.
