Gary Levone Anderson was born on June 6th, 1939 in Jacksonville, Florida but ended up living in Norfolk, Virginia, where he signed for Frank Guida’s “Legrand” records, recording as Gary “U.S.” Bonds. His first hit was “New Orleans”, which was followed by his only number one hit, “Quarter To Three” in June 1961. In the early 1980s, Bonds had a career resurgence with two albums and continues to release albums sporadically, and today is a mainstay of the nostalgia concert circuit. This disc has very light wear to the cinyl, conservatively graded between VG++ and EXCELLENT condition, worth checking out the flip too!!
