Born Jimmy Brunsen, he was a member of numerous vocal groups during the 1950’s including The Regals, The Rockets, The Rocketeers, The Magic Notes and The Planets. As The Rockets, they hooked up with Johnny Otis and became part of his touring “Johnny Otis Show”. When Otis did his Capitol sessions, he used The Rockets extensively for backup work and they are featured in the background on his 1958 hit “Willie And The Hand Jive”. Between 1959 and 1963, Jimmy Brunsen appeared with the Billy Williams Revue, then recorded some solos under the name “Jimmy Bee”, and finally went into record promotion for Arista Records. This is great Funky Soul in EXCELLENT condition, worth checking the flip too
