José Luis Pastrana Santos was born on August 22nd, 1942 in Santurce, Puerto Rico and moved to New York when he was four years old. He became an accomplished latin timbales, congas, player and band leader from the Bronx, New York. He recorded several albums for “Cotique” records during the late 1960’s and was one of the leading lights in the Latin soul and Boogaloo scene, his later recordings were more Latin Jazz in style. Joey Pastrani sadly died on February 2nd, 2014. This disc from 1969 has light wear, conservatively graded in VG++ condition.
