Johnny Thunder And Ruby Winters – Make Love To Me – Stateside

Only 1 left in stock

Johnny Thunder moved from his home in Florida to New York City in the early 1960’s and scored a hit with “Loop de Loop”. Ruby Forehand was born on January 18th, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky, but was raised in Cincinnati and signed to “Diamond” records in the mid 1960’s, and as well as recording some great solo recordings, did some great duets with the aforementioned Johnny Thunder. In 1973 Ruby released a couple of 45’s on “Polydor” records, then one on “Playboy” records. In 1977 the U.K.  “Creole” records released Winters’ recording of “I Will” which reached number 4 on the U.K. charts in 1977. Ruby Winters Jenkins sadly died on August 7th, 2016 in Missouri City, Texas. This disc from 1967 has light wear, conservatively graded in VG++ condition. Bizarrely the flip “Teach Me Tonight”, which is worth checking out, is mis labelled as “The Pink Floyd – Arnold Layne – Columbia” but DOES play the Johnny Thunder/Ruby Winters tune
