Clarence Lewis Jr. was originally from Birmingham, Alabama. By 1954, he was in New York recording for Bobby Robinson’r “Red Robin” records as Clarence ‘Junior’ Lewis. In 1960, he released three singles for “Fury” records, using his given name on one and Little Junior Lewis for the other two. Lewis then recorded for “Columbia” records, “Scepter” records, and “MGM” records. Lewis reappeared in 1967 as C. L. Blast on a single released both on “Stax” records and on its subsidiary, “Hip” records, too. Around 1970,he made a few records for “Pelican” records and “United” records. In the 1970’s and 1980’s he recorded for “Clintone” records, “Juana” records, “Cotillion” records and “Park Place” records. Clarence sadly died on February 26th, 2016 in Birmingham, Alabama. This disc has light wear and is conservatively graded in VG++ condition.
