Melinda Helen Matthews was born on December 14th, 1924 in New Orleans, discovered at the age of 11 by Mahalia Jackson, after performing, she recorded for “Savoy” records, “Crystalette” records, “Forecast” records, “Federal” records and “Atco” records, recording for “Brunswick” records in the early 1960’s before turning successfully to acting. Linda Hopkins sadly died on April 10th, 2017 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This disc has two black crosses on the label, otherwise is in EXCELLENT condition, worth checking out the flip too
