Magic Tones – It’s Better To Have – Mah’s

Out of stock

Calvin “Dhaakk” Stephenson formed The Magictones with James Shackleford, Richard Allen, Arthur Cartwright and Albert Singleterry in Inkster, Michigan. Later, Charles Wilson replaced James Shackleford. All of the above singers quit close to High School graduation time. Richard Thompson encouraged Calvin to start a new group with Clarence Finch, Willie Allison, Bull Allison, Richard Thompson and Calvin “Doc” Stephenson. The female singer of later times was Virginia Macdonald, who replace Paul Willis, who sadly died. Later, Virginia Macdonald would sing for Norman Whitfield as producer and with Undisputed Truth.  One of the early records of the band is credited to Debra Healy & Magictones on the “Chrysler” label, Debra being a school friend. This fabulous double sider from 1968 has a scratch in the run out groove, which does not affect play, otherwise is in EXCELLENT condition, well worth checking out the flip “Together We Shall Overcome”
