Carlos, Lou and Ric Wilson were born in Panama, but grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, New York and formed Mandrill in 1968, with Carlos on trombone and vocals, Lou on trumpet and vocals, and Ric on saxophone and vocals, they formed the band to combine Funk, Soul, Jazz an Latin, adding ¬†Claude “Coffee” Cave, Omar Mesa, Bundie Cenas, and Charlie Padro to the line up. They signed with “Polydor” records until 1975, when they moved to “United “Artists” records then to “Arista” records with changes of personnel along the way releasing four albums for the label, then with diminishing success stopped recording as a group in 1982. This disc from 1973 is in EXCELLENT condition, worth checking the flip too
