Mary Esther Wells was born on May 13th, 1943 in Detroit, signed for Motown in 1960 and became recognized as “The Queen of Motown” until she left in early 1965, whereupon she accepted a lucrative contract with 20th Century Fox Records. In 1966, Wells signed with Atlantic Records’ subsidiary Atco. In 1968, she left the label for Jubilee Record. She decided to retire from music in 1974 to raise her family, but in 1977 returned to recording for  Epic Records and then a few other labels. Mary sadly died on July 26th, 1992. This CLASS double sider from this legend has light wear, conservatively graded in VG++ condition
