“Impact” records was based in Detroit, Michigan, and founded by Harry Balk. Initially, the label was run out of the same location as “Inferno” records, another one of Balk’s labels. The label ran from 1965 – 1967 and recorded such artists as The Shades of Blue, The Human Beings, The Duke Browner Orchestra, The Lollipops, and Edwin Starr. The studio did not survive the 1967 Detroit Riots and after several businesses occupied the building, the former studio is now an empty lot. Patti and Mickey were Patti Jerome and Mickey Denton. Mickey had other releases as did Patti, who also recorded for the Motown corporation as “P.J.”. This disc has light wear to the vinyl, whilst still retaining gloss, conservatively graded in VG++ condition.
