Rufus was born in 1938, though grew up and spent much of his life in Connecticut. In 1957, he was performing locally as a ‘hillbilly’ singer, doing a cowboy type song show and in 1959, he enlisted in the US Air Force, after which he secured a record deal, initially with “Holton” and then “RCA” records and a few other labels. Although he was talented and recorded a few 45’s and an album, success eluded him and he disappeared from the music business. This disc has some light biro on the label and fine, superficial scuffs to the vinyl, whilst retaining gloss, conservatively graded between VG and VG+ condition, worth checking out the flip too
