Jimmy Radcliffe was born on 18th November, 1936 in Harlem, New York and became an accomplished singer, songwriter, producer and multi-organist, often partnering Buddy Scott in the late 1960’s in songwriting. In 1965 he became the first African-American performing artist to write, produce and sing commercial jingles for the advertising industry. Jimmy Radcliffe sadly died on 27th July 1973. On this disc from 1968 he is backed by the Steve Karmen band, and this tune in a more basic form was used in a “Pontiac” car advert. This disc has a couple of feint, superficial surface marks, otherwise is in EXCELLENT condition, worth checking out the instrumental flip
