American label “Backbeat” records was founded in August 1957 in Houston, Texas as a subsidiary of Don Robey’s “Peacock” records and was shut down in 1974 by “ABC” records, who had bought Robey’s labels two years earlier. Thomas Williams, who was related to Eddie Williams, was a West Coast “doo wop” singer and songwriter who also recorded as Buster Williams, Buster & Eddie, Carl Lester, The Fellows, The Turks and The Shields. This disc has light, superficial wear, whilst retaining some gloss, conservatively graded in VG+ condition, worth checking out the flip
