Antwaine “Tony” Ashcraft was a soul singer and songwriter from Kansas City. He first recorded for Ellis Taylor’s “Forte” records in 1967, which brought him to the attention of “Decca” records, who put the record out, plus a further two releases by him in 1968. While at work at the President Hat Shop on December 15, 1969, he was mysteriously paged to the front of the store, where he was shot to death at age 29. This disc has some light biro on the label and light wear to the vinyl, whilst retaining gloss, conservatively graded in VG++ condition, worth checking out the flip too
