Wilson Pickett was born on March 18th, 1941 in Prattville, Alabama, going to live with his father in Detroit in 1955, where he joined The Violinaires, then The Falcons in 1959 before going solo, recording for some small labels, before catching the attention of Jerry Wexler at “Atlantic” records, who bought Pickett’s recording contract from “Double L” records in 1964. Wilson Pickett enjoyed success at the label, recording three sessions at the legendary Stax studios in Memphis in May and October 1965. After many years of success on a variety of label, Wilson Pickett sadly died on January 19th, 2006. This disc has some black marker on the label, otherwise is in VG++ condition, worth checking the flip too
